Gyrocom is keeping fully abreast of developments relating to the continued spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the UK and Ireland.

We are routinely and regularly monitoring developments, reviewing our protocols, and preparing appropriate responses as the situation evolves. We are committed to ensuring all steps are taken to protect the health and wellbeing of all our colleagues and customers.

Following the most recent advice from Chief Medical Officer and the Government, Gyrocom has put into place its contingency plan which is designed to minimise social contact within our office and externally. This involves maximising the extent of remote working. We are transitioning face-to-face customer meetings to online formats using the advanced collaboration tools that have become integral to our style of working and which have helped to support increased productivity, flexibility and mobility. We have robust and clearly defined plans should any of our team be unwell in terms of ensuring continuity of service to our clients.

There is obvious uncertainty around the progress of the virus and the public health outcomes, but the Government expect us to reach a peak in infections and disruption in the next few weeks. The hope and expectation is that some normalisation in working practices and social interaction will follow gradually thereafter as people catch and recover from the virus and immunity increases. The most commonly quoted timeframe seems to be 3 to 4 months.

There have been a number of cases reported in the UK and this number is steadily rising. However, as with any other virus, the best way to prevent infection and spread is to avoid being exposed to it.
